Dr. Fola Yahaya

Co-Founder

Dr. Yahaya is Managing Director of Strategic Agenda.

Prior to founding Strategic Agenda, Fola worked as an economic consultant for both the United Nations and the World Bank, and as a strategy consultant for clients including the Government of Qatar, the Foreign & Commonwealth office, BP and Morgan Stanley.

Fola received a PhD in information infrastructure in Africa from the London School of Economics in 2000.

Fola speaks English, French, Spanish and Danish and is currently learning Yoruba.

Maria Janum

Co-Founder

Maria has over 12 years experience working as a linguist on content for international clients such as Microsoft and the BBC and co-founded Strategic Agenda in 2002.

Maria has a degree in International Business and BA in English and has managed over a 1000 complex translation projects for clients such as the United Nations and its associated agencies.

Her role at Strategic Agenda includes financial management as well client management.

Maria is a fluent English and Danish speaker and is currently learning Spanish.

Anne-Sophie Delafosse

Translations Manager

Anne-Sophie has over six years’ experience as a French translation project manager in the UK and abroad.  She has a passion for project management and studying and learning modern languages, having graduated from the University of Le Havre with a Bachelors level degree in English literature, history and translation in 2008, and a Masters degree in French language from Boulogne University in 2011. Anne-Sophie is currently learning Swedish!

José María Cabrera Ros

Junior Project Manager

José has an extensive background as a translator and as a translation project manager. He has a BA in Translation and Interpreting and a Master’s Degree in English Language for International Trade, both from Universitat Jaume I (Castelló de la Plana, Spain). He specialises in legal, economic and audiovisual translation. He has collaborated as a translator and interpreter for refugees and asylum seekers for the Red Cross in Valencia and is particularly interested in foreign cultures and human rights. Besides Spanish, he speaks English, French and Catalan.

Elisa Acevedo Hernández

Senior Spanish Editor

Elisa has over nine years’ experience as an English and French to Spanish translator.

Elisa has a BA in Translation and in Law with a Master’s Degree in International Law.

Prior to this position, she provided translation services to a wide range of International organisations and companies. Her areas of specialisation include the financial, legal and human development fields.

Marion Delépine

Senior French Editor

Marion has a Master’s Degree in Literature. She studied Translation and Linguistics at Oklahoma University and graduated from France’s Montaigne University in Bordeaux.

Prior to joining Strategic Agenda she travelled extensively, and worked freelance for an online political magazine. Marion has a passion for the environment and hopes to contribute to these causes with Strategic Agenda.

Chloe Browne

Senior English Translator and Editor

Chloe graduated in 2014 with an MA (with Distinction) in Translation and Professional Language Skills from the University of Bath. She has since worked as an in-house project manager and translator at RP Translate in Bristol.

Prior to this position, she held translation internships in France, Spain and at the Universal Postal Union in Switzerland.

Anne-Laure Emery

Senior French Editor

Anne-Laure has over 8 years experience in English and German to French translation and editing, and has translated and edited many publications for a variety of international development agencies.
She has a masters degree in Translation and Localisation from the Université Rennes 2 Haute-Bretagne in France.
Prior to this position, Anne-Laure worked for several translation companies specialised in various areas, including media, renewable energy, marketing and IT.

Isabelle Payen

Senior French Editor

Isabelle is a seasoned French translator with a particular expertise in health and human development. Passionate about everything related to people’s health and well-being, she fervently supports these ideals. She has a degree as a translator-terminologist from the prestigious ISIT University in Paris.

Prior to joining Strategic Agenda, she worked as a translator for various companies, including in the medical sector, and volunteered overseas. Besides French and English, she speaks German and Spanish.

Lucie Naslin

French Editor

Lucie has an extensive background in English to French translation and editing. She has translated over 40 publications for a variety of international development agencies including UNDP and UNICEF.

She has a Masters in Translation from the University Paul Valéry in Montpellier, France.

Javier Nadal Soria

Spanish Editor

Javier has an extensive background in English to Spanish translation and editing. He has a BA in Translation Studies and graduated from Jaume I University, Castellón de la Plana, Spain in 2015.

He specialises in legal, economic and audio-visual translation and has spent time working for both UNESCO and the University of Valencia. He also speaks Catalan and French.

Kieran Colvin

Business Development Executive

Kieran has a BA in Economics and International Politics and graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2014 with a first-class honours. Through developing Strategic Agenda as a business he is hoping to further his knowledge in both global politics and sustainable development.

Prior to joining Strategic Agenda he worked in the Renewable Energy sector. He is currently learning Spanish.

Lai Yahaya

Senior adviser

Lai is a lawyer, development economist and policy entrepreneur who advises Strategic Agenda on development policy issues.

Lai was recently appointed Team Leader for the Senior Advisors Group of President Obama’s Power Africa. Power Africa, is an innovative private sector led initiative announced by President Obama during his Africa trip in June 2013.

Lai was also previously an associate with the global energy project finance team of the New York law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and General Counsel of the London Stock Exchange-listed African gas player, Gasol.  He received his BA (Hons) and MA from Balliol College, Oxford University, is a Fellow of the Archbishop Desmond Tutu/Oxford Business School Leadership Program and was designated a New Leader for Tomorrow by the Council of Europe-affiliated Fondation du Forum Universale.
